Chapter 5 spoke about many ways to save important information online. Websites such as Diigo and Delicious are used to bookmark and tag specific websites. This chapter also speaks about how important blogs are when working to communicate with other people. There are many different types of blogs, and many different websites geared toward certain professions. Blogs rely on participation from the outside world and work well due to communication between many different individuals. “Blogs are a participatory medium where users welcome feedback and discussions. Chapter 2: Developing a Connected Learning Model

Chapter 2 speaks about how learning communities can influence educational and professional relationships. Being able to collaborate with other individuals who share the same interests or profession with you, is extremely important. The text speaks about how using a three-pronged approach to professional development. They are local community, global network, and bounded community. “professional learning communities take a team focus personal learning networks take an individual focus, and communities of practice take a systemic focus” (Nusssbum-Beach, p 28). The chapter speaks about how being able to work in these different types of communities enhances the individuals personal and professional self and is a way to share thoughts and ideas for one to use within the professional world.
